Florida Unemployment UpdateGov. Rick Scott and state labor officials are getting a bit of cheerful holiday news with Florida’s latest unemployment report. State labor officials reported Friday that unemployment in the state fell four-tenths of a percentage point in November to 10 percent, its lowest mark since May 2009. Scott campaigned on creating some 700,000 new jobs over a seven-year period assuming he’d win re-election in 2014. Since taking office in January, the Republican governor has seen nearly 107,000 new jobs created in the private sector while government jobs continue to go away at all levels local, state and federal. The Scott administration Friday claimed that 120,000 new jobs have been added since the governor took office in January.
